Sydney post-rock outfit sleepmakeswaves have debuted in the ARIA Top 40 at #31 with their second album ‘Love Of Cartography’.

It marks the band’s first entry on the ARIA Chart, as well as the Top 20 Australian artists’ chart, where they landed at #14.

The band are currently in the middle of a headlining Australian tour, with shows this weekend in Byron Bay & Brisbane, before continuing to Melbourne, Canberra, Perth, Adelaide & Sydney in August.

The new album follows their 2012 ARIA-nominated debut ‘…and so we destroyed everything.’

Produced by Nick DiDia, Love Of Cartography has already been receiving glowing reviews from around the country:

Nothing short of spectacular. 4.5/5. Kscope Ears

Most people assume that a band needs a lead singer – Sydney band sleepmakeswaves puts paid to that idea pretty quickly on Love of Cartography, where the songs convey feelings, emotions and even ideas perfectly well without the human voice. 4/5. AltMedia

sleepmakeswaves have come out swinging with their sophomore effort. At the peak of their genre in this country, they have an album which is unmistakably sleepmakeswaves with no radical departure composition wise, but with a sound that brings a dimension that was previously reserved for their live performances. This is world class. 9/10. This Is Not A Scene

This is an album that must be experienced for oneself; a shout in the dark, pleading for you to hear its message and give it a listen, if not fifty. sleepmakeswaves cannot be stopped. 5/5.  Sputnik Music

The Aussie band has moved towards a electro-rock sound that is gonna blow your mind. As masters of meticulous instrumental rock, apocalyptic guitar landscapes, they have spoiled us delivering great music, and Love Of Cartography is gloriously no different. Echoes and Dust

A superb record, utilizing all strengths of the band while infusing them with new found power. This is an album to smile to, to travel to, to discover to. 4.5/5. Heavy Blog Is Heavy
