SEIMS - 'FOUR' debuts at #7 on100% IND & Announced for ARCTANGENT

Australian experimental rock project SEIMS have

hit #7 on the 100% Independent Chart in Australia

with ‘FOUR’ a new full-length album featuring their most engaging and hypnotic material to date.

The achievement makes SEIMS the first math rock artist to feature in the Top 10 of the chart.

The brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Simeon Bartholomew, SEIMS has evolved into an explorational and formidable band over the course of several records. Simeon posted the following message on social media about the accomplishment:

Well this is a first. Not just for me, but for the entire genre. We’re the first Aussie math-rock band to hit the @ausindies charts. Debuting at #7 and amongst some fine, fine company. This wouldn’t have been possible without all of you who’ve supported this project through and through - and more specifically in this case, preordered or purchased the album within our first week. A big thanks to

The Bird's Robe Collective

Dunk!records

 and

Art As Catharsis

for giving this so much love, and

For The Lost PR

Create Eclipse and Holy Cuervo for working your magic and helping this reach a tonne of new ears.  Eternally grateful, and yes, I’ll uphold my end of the bet.

The "bet" referred to is Simeon's promise to release a math-rock cover of Oasis' 'Wonderwall' should the band feature in the charts. In the nude. We can't wait.Featuring the singles 'Elegance Over Confidence', 'The Mountain's Scream' & 'Showdown Without A Victim', the album 'FOUR' has received rave reviews so far:

"F*cking flawless" - Everything Is Noise

"45 minutes of pure perfection" - Distorted Sound

"A spellbinding record" - PROG Magazine

"A surge of undulating heavy prog" - triple j

The new record showcases the band’s delicately crafted arrangements on tracks including the beguiling 65daysofstatic ‘Wild Light’ era tinged post-math-rock of

Elegance Over Confidence

, the soaring modern post-rock of

The Mountain’s Scream

and the dark ‘Stranger Things’ evoking electro-prog of

Showdown Without A Victim

.

The new video for 'Showdown Without A Victrim' recently premiered at Prog Magazine/Louder Sound (watch below).

The album was written & produced by Simeon Bartholomew himself, engineered by Tim Carr (We Lost The Sea), mixed by Alex Wilson (sleepmakeswaves) & mastered by Jeff Lipton and Maria Rice. As well as Simeon performing bass, guitars, synths, piano & vocals himself, it also features blistering performances from Plini drummer Chris Allison, Kat Hunter & Susie Bishop on violins & Tangents/FourPlay member Peter Hollo on cellos.

For the release of ‘FOUR’ SEIMS have partnered with Australian labels Art As Catharsis & Bird’s Robe once again, as well as European vinyl label Dunk Records for the first time.

The band will also embark on their first UK/EU tour in 2022, having been announced for the epic ARCTANGENT Festival in the UK, alongside Opeth, Cult of Luna, MONO, TesseracT, Maybeshewill, Caspian & many more.

‘FOUR’ is out now through Bird’s Robe, Art As Catharsis & Dunk Records.
