Toehider announce ‘What Kind of Creature Am I?’ album tour
Melbourne prog-rock act TOEHIDER have announced the release of their second album What Kind Of Creature Am I? ?for July 11, 2014.
Led by singer-songwriter Mike Mills, the band will take their Queen-influenced, larger-than-life progressive rock on the road in July & August, sporting a healthy dose of the quirkiness and tongue-in-cheek humour that makes them one of the most entertaining live bands in the country.
The album tour will see Toehider join Voyager & Caligula?s Horse at club shows in Brisbane & Melbourne, before returning to Sydney alongside locals Anubis and featuring at Melbourne?s Heavy Fest event at The Tote. They then join The Beards for a 3-date Tasmanian tour in August.
The album release follows a successful crowdfunding campaign raising $13,000 (hitting their goal of $4,000 in just 12 hours) and an extensive co-headlining tour in March with Wollongong?s Troldhaugen in support of new single ?Whoa!? which premiered on triple j with Richard Kingsmill.
In recent times singer/songwriter Michael Mills has featured alongside members of YES, DREAM THEATER and NIGHTWISH, on AYREON?s album ?The Theory of Everything?, and gone viral with his cover of KATE BUSH?s Wuthering Heights passing 350k views. Following a busy 2013 spent touring alongside The Protomen (USA) and Devin Townsend (CAN), TOEHIDER are heading out on the road in 2014 with a new album in tow.
