The Dear Hunter withdraw from Australia and New Zealand shows

We are sad to announce The Dear Hunter will no longer be able to perform their scheduled shows in Australia and New Zealand. Please see their statement for further details:

Hello everyone,

To get straight to the point, we unfortunately have to cancel our upcoming Australian and New Zealand run. One of our band members has received some serious medical news that will prevent them from traveling out of the country at this time. We ask for your understanding and respect for their privacy, with no further speculation or questions at this moment.

We have been eager to return to Australia for several years. The amazing members of Closure In Moscow graciously invited us over, and we have been looking forward to this tour for months.

All dates with Closure In Moscow will continue without us. We strongly encourage our fans to attend these shows, and support them!

If you can no longer attend the scheduled Australian dates, you can request a refund by emailing mike@birdsrobe.com

The New Zealand shows will automatically be refunded to your account. No further action needed.

While we are disappointed, we are also staying optimistic about our future. We're working hard on new music, a documentary film, and touring plans for later this year. As we adapt to what may be a new normal, our commitment to live shows remains unwavering.

These performances have always been a source of healing and motivation for us, and we're hoping this motivation will foster a positive outlook for future dates.

Any future shows are likely to be in the USA to ensure easy access to healthcare and support for our band member. This adjustment is not permanent, but necessary at this time.

We promise The Dear Hunter will return to Australia and New Zealand. We appreciate your support and understanding during this period.

Thank you.”

The Closure in Moscow “Soft Hell” headline tour will still be going ahead with Toehider as support.

We will be announcing an additional replacement support act this week.

Refunds will be available to anyone who bought tickets just to see TDH and don't want to come to the show anymore (it's OK, we understand) - just contact mike@birdsrobe.com with your proof of purchase.

Due to the costs associated with the lineup changes, we will be increasing the ticket price by $5 starting from May 23rd. So if you've been planning to see Closure on this tour, there's another 2 weeks to go to pick up a ticket at the current price before it goes up.

We look forward to welcoming The Dear Hunter back to Australia and New Zealand in future when circumstances improve. We've waited 11 years so far, we can wait another little while. Health, family and the wellbeing of artists is always our primary concern and we wish them all the best for a speedy recovery.
