It can take a lot to be able to build up a good rapport with key local venues, and it takes a lot of effort and skill to be able to promote a show successfully – let alone to navigate the superfluous complexities of the myriad of hyper-fragmented genres and scenes and their respective fickle fans.

Luckily, all is not lost. There are still some organisations who are able to promote live music very well; promoters who do manage to inspire confidence from bands, fans and venues alike. One such promoter is the Sydney-based The Bird’s Robe Collective.
